Teaching Practicum 2009 Fall

Group 2616 have already started its 2d teaching practicum. Student-teachers have to observe 30 lessons and make analysis of 10 classes according to the observation tasks. It would be great if they could attach or comment on their observation in on-line regime on the pages of wikispace at http://observeandteach.wikispaces.com/Lesson+Observation+Form+1 .

My dear students, my congratulations with the beginning of their 'active' practicum! Many students have already taught few lessons. It should be nice to share your teaching experiences. I'd like to give some recommendations which could be true to many of you:
a) When you start planning think of an objective to every task/ activity you set. It should help you to assess your learners at the end of the task. Moreoever, it would be a good link/transformation to the next stage.
b) Think of anticipation of a problem, i.e. when you ask a question/ set instruction think over the way you would answer it. It should help you to guide your students and see the better way of doing the task. What is more it should assist you with the language you should review.
c) Rehearse your plan, a try and pronounce every new word. Consult with the dictionary even if the word sounds quite familiar.
d) Develop learners thinking abilities, give them hints, teach them on how to get the meaning according to the context and knowledge of grammar.
e) Demonstrate your love and patience to your learners. They are really interesting people.

You're welcome to find your observation field notes on the pages of http://observeandteach.wikispaces.com

It wasn't difficult that much to add this task. Hopefully it would not be complicated errand for you to accomplish.

I'd welcome your discussion on the issues it raises

I wellcome students of group 2615 at their 2d teaching practicum. Hopefully you'll enjoy this practice more and gain new experiences.
Let me remind you about the assignments you should develop. They are 2 in formats. It shouldn't be difficult that much if you recollect your previous experience in obervation on different aspects of the teaching process, such as learning process, motivation factor, feedback and others.

You're welcome to add comments to this message and share your experience in observing and teaching classes

Greeting to newcomers

My kind words to student-teachers of the group 2615. This week you've started conducting your first lessons. It's obvious that you're going to face various problems while planning your lessons. So you should feel free to share your problem and ask for a piece of advice.

Good luck!
Think positively!

Blog navigation

Few words about the blog navigation. Some problems occured with the blog navigation. There should be no problem. You don't need to register, you may just leave a comment to this or that message and view it on that page.
If you register you can leave a new message on the main page. That is. Try and it works

Lesson planning

This is just to let you know that this is a nice platform to share your experiences and problems with lesson planning. You should consider the format of the book you work. I mean the books of Macmillan PH. You should think the topics or problems these units set, to what extend they meet the interests of our students. Another big difference that activities for good practice are not enough. Consider what additional tasks you can develop or include to achieve sufficient amunt of practicle tasks and be effective!

Teaching Practicum

This is another attendance of mine to this page. I must admit that I'm navigating and learning this platform together with you. If you have any technical problem you're welcome to try any link. You need just to move ur mouse and try what works. This platform is quite user-friendly. I managed to do another link to our first task.
There's a sign in the form of a pencil, which means you're welcome to leave any message on this page. IF you wish to develop a comment then you should find 'comment'. Try!
There are 2 comments at the moment. Thanks, Nadya, very interesting observations and ideas to discuss!

Hello people

It's time to start our work and discussion on line. I really hope that it would be of great interest to you and helpful in further academic work.

The first week of the practice was a bit fussy and messy. This is the realia of first days at school. But I guess you've started as passive as active practice. So I'm ready to help you and respond you to any question of yours.

Good luck!!!
